Gladstone Students Dig Deep for National Tree Day

More than 30 students from Clinton State School enjoyed clear skies and sunshine as they planted trees and shrubs for Schools Tree Day at Peet Limited’s Vantage community.

Schools Tree Day is part of National Tree Day – Australia’s biggest community tree planting initiative celebrated at the end of July each year.

Students were able to take their learning outside the classroom and planted more than 200 trees and shrubs that will provide habitat and food for the local fauna at Vantage.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said Peet was pleased to support National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day by donating hundreds of plants to the Gladstone community for the fifth consecutive year.

“These two events give the community and young people in particular, a chance to roll up their sleeves and make a great contribution to the natural environment – and their own urban environment,” he said.

Clinton State School Teacher Tracie Rowe said the students had enjoyed getting out the classroom to take part in the event.

“The students had heaps of fun learning about gardening and were able to consolidate their learning about the importance of planting in preserving and enhancing the natural environment,” Mrs Rowe said.

“We will all be looking forward to watching the plants grow and the children are excited about seeing the results of their hard work.

“The trees will make Vantage a more beautiful place to live and the children can be proud as they drive past the estate and see the beautiful trees they planted.”

Thank you for the more than 300 people who turned out to celebrate the official opening of the new Land Sales Office. The rain stayed away and the sky turned blue as we were treated to a good dose of free family fun, enjoying a free sausage sizzle and snow cone, the jumping castle and meeting the animals of the petty zoo.

Boost to build in regional Queensland

Peet Limited has welcomed an added boost for first home buyers in regional Queensland with an extra $4,000 bonus set to kick in from 1 July 2010.

The total grant for eligible first home buyers outside of South East Queensland increases to $11,000 from 1 July 2010 and provides a great incentive to look beyond South East Queensland and escape to a relaxed regional community away.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said homebuyers looking to build their dream home at Vantage could be eligible to take advantage of the State Government grant to secure land in a master-planned community.

“Vantage is the newest residential community to be developed by Peet Limited and is located in one of Queensland’s fastest growing regions,” Mr Gore said.

“The grant could help homebuyers to secure land at Vantage in a bushland setting, minutes away from coastal waterways yet close to the commercial hub of the Gladstone CBD.”

Construction is underway on the first stage with the first 47 lots expected to be complete by Spring. With more than a quarter of these new homesites already sold, the new Vantage community is fast taking shape.

The spacious homesites are priced from an affordable $170,000 and range in size from 480sqm to 853sqm, with generous side access for boats, trailers or caravans.
